Mitchell is originally from a suburb of Dallas, Texas but has been a long time resident of Arizona. Interests in the physiological and biomechanical dynamics of the human body led Mitchell to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Arizona State University. His desire to utilize his understanding of the human body to promote disease prevention pushed Mitchell to continue education at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio where he ultimately graduated with honors with a Master of Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies. Aside from these accolades achieved during his didactic years of school, Mitchell also gained clinical experience in the following fields: Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cardiology, General Surgery. Thereafter, he spent 6 months practicing in a primary care setting, focusing on both men and women's health, disease prevention, and chronic disease management. In due course, this experience led him to partner with Southwest Urologic Specialists' providers. He and Joseph H. Worischeck, MD work exclusively as a team. While Dr. Worischeck attends to all surgical needs, Mitchell attends to all non-surgical needs such as general urologic concerns, as well as, the management of prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, overactive bladder, and incontinence.
